There is a new war happening online, and we, the public, are at the front lines. Malicious cyber activity threatens public safety and our national and economic security everyday. The FBI is the lead federal agency for investigating cyber attacks and intrusions. They collect and share intelligence and engage with victims while working to unmask those committing these malicious cyber activities, wherever they are. 

Join us as we welcome guest speaker, Betsy Moriarty, from the FBI Tampa offices, to learn more about what you can do to protect yourself from cyber criminals, how you can report cyber crime, and the Bureau's efforts in combating the evolving cyber threat.

Community Outreach Specialist

Community Outreach Specialist Betsy Moriarty graduated from the University of Tampa with a degree in Business Management. Prior to joining the FBI, she worked for twelve years at a local law firm serving as their marketing director and client relations coordinator. Ms. Moriarty joined the FBI Tampa Office in 2015 as an Operational Support Technician assigned to the Counterintelligence Squad. In 2017 she became a Forfeiture Paralegal Specialist who worked with the agents across the division and the US Attorney Office, Middle District of Florida helping coordinate forfeiture matter across the division. Since March 2020, Ms. Moriarty has been assigned as the Community Outreach Specialist for the 18 counties that the FBI Tampa Field Office serves. She is responsible for working with the public, local, federal, and state government agencies, community partners, community leaders and school districts. Since 2010 Ms. Moriarty has been partnering with A Kid’s Place to provide monthly birthday parties for the foster kids living there thru The Birthday Bunch. Ms. Moriarty was a Girl Scout Troop leader for 10-years and active in the Go-Fer Service Unit. Ms. Moriarty believes in giving back to the community she lives and works in and in Girl Scout Creed leaving this world a little better than she found it.
